This package of two 3/8", Grade 70 hooks is the perfect solution for Chevy/GMC 2500HD series owners trying to attach safety-chains from their class IV travel trailer, recreational trailer, or transport trailer to the class V hitch on their 2015 tow vehicle.

Starting in 2015, GMC introduced a new class IV receiver on their heavy duty trucks and many owners have discovered that the safety chains on their old class IV trailer will not fit through the hole on the receiver of their new truck.

Some owners resort to carabiners - which are not DOT stamped and may not have the proper working load limit to safely keep the trailer attached to the receiver in a ball-hitch disconnection or failure.

Others use shackles, which hang loosely from the holes, must be left in place, rattle, and run the risk of the eye-bolt used to attach the bolt to the receiver "backing out" and becoming disconnected. Shackles are also not DOT stamped for transport applications.

There is a reason the safety chains on your class IV trailer came with a hook and latch, called a "slip hook". They're easy to quickly and securely attach and remove, and the latch ensures they won't become jarred loose and dislodged during travel.

And that is what we're offering you - the same DOT stamped slip hooks that truckers use to secure loads for interstate transport. The same hooks we use in our industrial packages for long haul transport trucking. Don't cut corners on your safety, the safety of your family, and the safety of other motorists. These hooks and latches exceed your original Class IV safety-chain DOT requirements, and we've tested them to ensure they're the perfect fit for your 2015 or later GMC Class V receiver.

It is a simple swap with your existing hooks. Just bend the cotter key straight with bottle nose pliers and slip it out of the load pin and slide the pin out, do the same on your existing slip hooks on your safety chains, and swap out the old hooks for these, replace the cotter key and bend it back, and you're back on the road.

You may see other similar packages for sale on other online retail sites. They look the same, but often those are grade 43 hooks with a lower working load limit and inconsistent technical specs. That is because those sellers specialize in recreational markets, not professional transport and trucking industries. You have a pro-grade truck, don't rely on consumer grade safety gear to get you there. Trust Advantage Rigging, with over 10 years of experience providing the best transport chains and hooks in the business, and millions of miles of proven durability and reliability!

*This package only includes 2 slip hook replacements and reuses the safety-chains already attached to your trailer.
